The man in the room
From the streets. To this room.
Gaz grew up with no runway. Juvenile centres. Dealing. Twenty years in the life, seven of them in prison. At 33 he was facing life; the court found him not guilty and he walked away from it the same day.
Then the fall. Never touched drugs while he was selling them — after, he took all of them. Five years. Homeless. Close to the end.
"It was the death of my ego. It's what I needed to set me into where I am today."
He asked for help. Got clean. Moved to Cairns with his dog and started recording himself — real, raw, no filter. Three years of it. A men's workshop put him in front of breathwork. He trained as a 9D facilitator. Then he built Hope Cartel to bring people back to themselves.
"I'm no longer the dope dealer. I'm the hope dealer."

The studio burned down. The work didn't stop.
A fire tore through the Melton studio in the early hours. No one was inside. No one was hurt. Within hours, Gaz posted his answer.
"There's no chance this is going to stop us. This is all part of our story."
They lost a building. Not the mission. October is where the community gathers next.
